Not quite a scarf, not quite a cravat, the ascot is a classic, versatile piece of neckwear. This is a wool-silk blend that can be worn high on the neck for warmth, or loosely hanging as a touch of colour and pattern in warmer months. The stunning hexagonal pattern woven into the design brings a classic elegance to the piece. The Ascot’s thin, light construction makes it easy to wear either casually or as a relaxed alternative to a tie.

Simonnot Godard have been making pocket squares and handkerchiefs since 1787, so it is no wonder that they do it better than anyone else. The company is uncompromising in its commitment to materials and process: only the finest cotton and linen is used, designs are chosen from over 200 years of archived patterns and traditional weaving machines. When the cloth has been woven they are sent to the mountainous Voges region, where it is washed and finished in the famously pure mountain water. All colour and pattern in Simonnot Godard’s cloths are intricately woven into the design, rather than being printed onto the fabric. The final stage involves hand rolling and stitching the fine edges of each piece, a fantastically difficult task at which Simonnot Godard are unsurpassed. It is no wonder that companies as exacting as Hermes ask Simonnot Godard to produce linen and cotton pocket squares for them.
