Dents

In 1777 Napoleon was still in short pants, and yet that was when John Dent founded Dents in Worcester, England. From the outset Dents cut the leather for their gloves by hand and they do it to this day. It is important to note that the best leather for gloves is sourced by Dents from Pittards Tannery in Yeovil, England.

Practical items but also beautiful, Dents gloves adorned the royal phalanges of both George VI and Her Majesty Elizabeth II at their respective coronations in 1937 and 1953. Since 1834 Dents have used Frenchman Xavier Jouvin’s method of hand measurement in order to size their gloves, which is done by measuring the hand you write with around its widest part at the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

Gloves are not just for those in espionage. If it’s cold enough for an overcoat, you should wear some gloves. And you never know, maybe one day you’ll need to catch a train to meet a woman in Brussels and you do not want your fingerprints on that briefcase should you get scooped by those blighters on the other side.
